In the current financial climate, we are very grateful for all the sponsors that have come on board for the 2016 season, but we realised that seeking one large sponsor for our jerseys was going to be tough. Calgary Foothills FC still wants to deliver our mission to bring high-profile soccer to Calgary. Rather than seeking one large sponsor, we are looking for 50 jersey sponsors to come in at $1,000 each. Each sponsor will be supporting Calgary Foothills FC, the highest level of soccer in Calgary and the only ProAm team, as they enter their second season in the PDL.
Every sponsorship completed by 15th March will be recognized for the upcoming season starting in May 2016. Last season Calgary Foothills just missed out on the playoffs, and gave the fans good wins and entertaining sports. Members of the squad also turned out for Foothills events, including the Grassroots Jamboree and provided mentorship and leadership in the club at training and camps.
At the time of writing 30 people have stepped up and sponsored $1,000 each, leaving only 20 people by March 15th to be a part of our amazing team and support these aspiring players as they take their next step on their #Path2Pro. Contact Graham Harder at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 403-998-0032 to sign up today.
Why is PDL so important to these players?
70% of current MLS players have come through the PDL system as part of their essential development pathway. The PDL to the MLS is the soccer equivalent of the WHL to the NHL in the hockey pyramid. Sam Adekugbe, now with the Vancouver Whitecaps MLS team (pictured with his younger brother and our PDL player Elijah) played for the Whitecaps PDL team in 2013.
